This privacy policy explains how Car4Life processes personal data in connection with the website, enquiries, rental and purchase processes, business requests and communication via form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
Note: The live page indicates that internal processes, service providers and retention periods should be finally reviewed before publication.

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is Car4Life GmbH, Seitenstettengasse 5/36, 1010 Vienna, Austria.

2. Legal bases and general processing
We process personal data only where this is required for website operation, enquiry handling, pre-contractual measures, contract performance, legal obligations, legitimate interests or on the basis of consent.
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR for consent, especially analytics and marketing cookies.
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual measures and contract performance.
- Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR for legal obligations.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for secure website operation, documentation, fraud prevention, legal enforcement and efficient communication.
- Section 165 TKG 2021 for cookies, local storage, pixels and comparable technologies.
3. Website operation, hosting and security
When visiting the website, IP address, date and time, accessed pages, referrer, browser and device information, operating system, HTTP status codes and technical log data may be processed.
The purposes are website delivery, system security, detection of misuse and attacks, error analysis and technical optimisation.
4. Consent management and cookies
Car4Life uses Cookiebot by Usercentrics A/S to obtain, document and manage cookie and tracking consent.
Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
5. Analytics, marketing and external content
Google Tag Manager may be used to integrate analytics and marketing services if corresponding consent has been given.
Technical data, interactions and, depending on the service, cookies or comparable technologies may be processed.
6. Contact
When you contact Car4Life by form, email, phone or WhatsApp, we process the information provided, such as name, email address, phone number, message, vehicle interest, enquiry content and technical metadata.
The purposes are enquiry handling, communication, appointment coordination, preparing offers and documentation.
7. Rental enquiries, reservations and vehicle rental
For rental enquiries and bookings, we process the data required for enquiry, offer, reservation, contract conclusion and vehicle rental performance.
- Contact and communication data.
- Vehicle, pickup and return time, rental duration, mileage package, insurance or deductible package, additional services and price/deposit information.
- Driving licence, ID, age, registration, driver and additional-driver data where required.
- Payment, deposit, invoice, contract, handover, return, damage and administrative data.
8. Business enquiries, purchase and sale
For business enquiries we process company, contact person, email address, phone number, VAT number, interest, desired duration, number and type of vehicles and special requirements.
For vehicle purchase, valuation or sale, we process contact and vehicle data such as brand, model, mileage, condition, first registration, documents, photos, valuation results and contract data.
9. Recipients and third-country transfers
Personal data is only disclosed where necessary or legally permitted. Recipients may include hosting, CDN, IT, website, consent, analytics and marketing providers, payment providers, banks, accounting, tax advisors, insurers, roadside assistance, workshops, experts, legal advisors, collection agencies, authorities and courts.
Some providers may process data outside the EU or EEA. Transfers take place only under the conditions of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.
10. Retention period
We store personal data only for as long as required for the respective purposes or statutory retention obligations.
- General contact enquiries without contract conclusion are generally stored for up to 6 months unless longer documentation is required.
- Contract, rental, purchase, invoice and accounting data are generally stored for 7 years or longer in case of ongoing proceedings or possible claims.
- Damage, accident, claim, penalty and legal dispute data are stored as long as required for processing and legal enforcement.
- Consent records are stored as long as required for documentation.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and the right not to be subject solely to automated decisions.

12. Required data, automated decisions and updates
For rental, purchase and service contracts, the data required for contract conclusion, performance, identity and eligibility checks, deposit management, billing and legal obligations must be provided.
Car4Life currently does not make solely automated decisions within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. This privacy policy may be updated if the legal situation, website, services or processes change.
